Overlooked textures, colours, and patterns from everyday life inspire my abstract oil paintings, transforming ordinary scenes into vibrant explorations of the world around us. I create bold gestures and layered details that reinterpret beauty found in the unnoticed, encouraging viewers to see the familiar in extraordinary ways. By combining intense contrasting tones with expressive, fluid marks and varied textures, I give a fresh perspective on our dynamic world.
Inspired by photographs I capture from my surroundings, I manipulate and layer these images to create stimulating references for my work. From these compositions, I abstract further, letting the flow and gesture of the paint guide my process.
Themes of observation and the everyday influence my practice to explore the complexity of paint and its ability to convey movement, interaction, and feeling. This process results in deeply personal pieces, inviting the audience to share my perspective and view of the world. Living in a time of constant scrolling, I want to allow people to be present in the moment and see the beauty of the everyday details they miss.
Memories intertwined into the layers of my work evoke fleeting moments and transitional states, creating a sense of fluidity and transformation. These visual narratives prompt viewers to question the boundaries of reality, blurring the line between the tangible and the abstract.
